Religious background
I have been immersed in a variety of Christian traditions. As a young child I was very aware of my friendship with God. I am grateful that my artistic parents fostered this awareness in such a creative and curious way. As a teenager I made a move to experience the Pentecostal stream which later led me to study at Bible College of NZ (now Laidlaw).
It is there that I discovered a little about contemplative spirituality. Returning to teaching after study I taught in Catholic primary schools also becoming involved in the Anglican community, a rich mix.
It is within the Anglican community that I have spent most of my time and I continue to call home. I am grateful for how each of these faith experiences have enriched me.
Approach to spiritual direction
Spiritual direction is a space to be curious about God and ourselves. It’s an invitation to notice and respond to whatever is going on in our everyday lives.
I love offering the hospitality of a space to be ourselves with God. I think and work creatively so often we explore image, imagination and body awareness. Creative materials are at the ready for those keen to use as a way to connect with God.
I am excited to sit in this space alongside you as we notice God together in everyday life.
