Religious background
My journey of awakening to the mystery of God began in Kerry, Ireland where I was born.
My deep fascination with the beauty and mystery of our world drew me to become a Presentation Sister over 40 years ago. I follow in the footsteps of Nano Nagle whose words ‘Love one another’ and ‘Spend yourselves for the poor’ continue to inspire and challenge me.
I moved to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2010 and did my SGM training 2013-2015.
My sense of God continues to expand as I experience the richness of the Maori Culture and the deep connections between Maori and Celtic spirituality. I feel passionate about caring for our beautiful, precious and vulnerable planet and believe that we are all in this together whatever our background. ‘He waka eke noa’
Approach to spiritual direction
It is an amazing privilege for me to accompany a person on the journey to deeply listen to the whispers of God in the bits and pieces of everyday life and deep in the heart.
I allow space for a person to attend to what is emerging, attentive to the uniqueness of each journey and attuning to the dance of the Spirit in the person’s life in openness and gratitude.
William A. Barry in his book “God and You” sums it up well when he says ‘You will grow in reverence for your own experience as the privileged place to meet God.’
I am now based in the Bay of Plenty, so keen to see people in that area or on line
