Religious background
I consider myself non-denominational but have attended the same church all my christian life up until moving from Manawatu to South Auckland/north Waikato early 2024. My husband, daughter and i now attend a church that is radically different to our previous church which i find adds to the richness of the christian spiritual life.
I trained as a counsellor in 2000 through Bible College of NZ and have been a professional counsellor since 2003. I have completed various other counselling training programmes and am a trained clinical supervisor for counsellors and other health professionals.
My passion for spiritual direction was initially sparked during my counselling training and later grew through my own experience of spiritual direction.
I completed two years of training at Spiritual Growth Ministries Aotearoa. The training/formation programme has given me a much richer experience and perspective of God. I have taken this richness into my practice as a spiritual director.
Approach to spiritual direction
The Spiritual Journey: Walking with God
The spiritual journey is a deeply personal path—a lifelong movement toward greater intimacy with God. It unfolds through seasons of growth, questioning, struggle, and transformation. At times, we may feel God’s nearness and guidance clearly; at others, we may wrestle with silence or uncertainty.
Spiritual direction offers a space to pause and reflect on this journey. With the gentle presence of a trained spiritual director, you are invited to notice where God may be at work in your life, how the Spirit might be leading, and what invitations are emerging in your relationship with God.
It’s not about having the right answers—it’s about being present to the mystery of God’s love and learning to respond with greater freedom, trust, and authenticity. Wherever you are on the path, spiritual direction helps you listen more deeply to the One who walks with you.
